OUTLAW ROOTS:
In high school, my Waylon Jennings MUSIC MAN, and WANTED OUTLAWS
8-tracks were warbling right along with my Led Zeppelin and Van Halen
tapes,  blaring from my
Kraco 8-track deck under the dash of my 1970
Camaro.

I can't think of any other artist at the time who was to me what Waylon
was.  Even as I gravitated away from country music professionally, I always
had a Waylon tape, album or 45 somewhere within my reach. I don't think I
ever labeled Waylon as country, that's why there were no boundaries ever
keeping me from his music given the changes I may have made with my
listening habits over the years.

It was a great time growing up for me, CB Radios,
Black Trans Ams,
Smokey and the Bandit, American Graffiti, Black Leather, Charlies Angels,
Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer, and
Waylon and Willie at the height of their career.
This music wasn't retro, it was happening!
My Dad always listened to country music, and by default so did I.
He had Hank,  I had Waylon.
SHOW ORIGINS:
My musical upbringing would be the true origins and at the very least
inspiration to get BLADERUNNER AND THE OUTLAW SHOW on the air.
I officially started the show in 2001 at XM Satellite Radio in Washington DC
as OUTLAW AMERICA. I think if you listen to the show it still says

"Bladerunner runnin' blocker"
in the theme at XM. I tried to continue to host
the show at XM after I left, but through the wonders of radio and the egos
attached...don't get me started...again. I regrouped, ditched all the XM
references, and continued to
collect my outlaw and time period related
arsenal, all the while producing a show that no one was hearing, as I had
no outlet for it. Until now.
THE SHOW:
It's an hour long show, featuring all the outlaw favorites. The well known
Outlaws, Waylon, Willie, David Allan Coe, Johnny Paycheck, Hank Williams
Jr. The legends,
Hank, Merle, George and Cash. The not quite so well
known, Hank Wilson, Guy Clark, Billy Joe Shaver. The up and comers, Hank
III, Shooter Jennings,  and Wayne Hancock. Plus the CDB, Bobby Bare,
Jerry Reed, Steve Earle, Dwight Yoakam and more. Even a few outlaw
chicks,
Rattlesnake Annie and of course Jessi Colter.

You'll hear some occasional record clicks and pops straight off the vinyl
just like you were listening to it then.
ACES ON 8-TRACK: An actual cut from
an actual working 8-track, at last as well as those things worked anyway.

WILLIE DUET ROULETTE:
Spin the wheel and find out who Willie sings with
next.
OUTLAW INTERROGATION: Interview segments with just about every
outlaw from the show.
CHOKE AND PUKE: A live mini concert at the end of
each show with some rare surprises like a George Jones Johnny
Paycheck show.
TALES OF THE RED HEADED STRANGER: Artists telling
their favorite Willie Stories.
POETRY, PROSE, PRISON: David Allan Coe's
stories of life as D.A.C.

BLADERUNNER AND THE OUTLAW SHOW: SHOW #01
"When I talked to Waylon he
called me "Hoss", later I
spoke with Jerry Reed
he called me "Son"...I didn't
even need to do an Outlaw
show after that.
